The Many Civil Wars Of England

civil war header

It has always fascinated me that English history has chosen to take one single war and elevate it as The Civil War. In fact, England has had many civil wars in its history. Spanning from The Revolt Of The Earls less than ten years after 1066, all the way up to the Pentrich Rising in the 19th century it is only realtively recently that England has been free of civil conflict. This will not be a full accounting of all the wars that have been contained within English borders, but instead will attempt to shine a light on some of the more interesting such events.

1. The First English Civil War: The Revolt Of The Earls

2. The Anarchy

3. The Revolt Of The Younger King

4. The Wars Of The Roses

X. The Last English Civil War: The Pentrich Rising
