So it doesn’t look quite as bad as I thought. The first half of chapter 10 is still usable, the second half needs rewritten completely (and it has some vital points, so it needs to stay), and I’ve a feeling that I’m going to make the novel quite a bit bleaker by doing so. Better as well though, and that’s the main thing.
