Today’s Odd Side of Donegal is about the last King of Donegal and his formidable mother. It’s called The Dark Daughter and the Red King and is recommended for anyone who thinks Game of Thrones is unrealistic.

Today’s Scribbling: A Heck Of A Lot Of Intrigue
The next Odd Side article is currently over 2400 words, and will hopefully show that Game of Thrones is a lot more realistic than you might think. War, treachery and derring-do are all on on display. Planning to edit and illustrate it tomorrow.
Today’s Scribbling: Setting The Scene Of History
Today I tried to tell a story from history, and wound up spending the whole time setting up the start of it. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it finished.
Today’s Scribbling: Kings and Scholars
Today was planning out the next two Odd Side of Donegal installments. One is about four men who wrote a book, and the other is about a woman who helped her son. Looking forward to writing them quite a bit.
Today’s Scribbling: The Lake That Lies Between
New Odd Side of Donegal article, this time about Lough Foyle, The Lake That Lies Between. Monsters, sunken wrecks, ancient history and modern drama, it’s all here.
Today’s Scribbling: The Lake of Monsters
Today I wrote the next Odd Side of Donegal article, about a lake where fake monsters on the surface glide over the corpses of real monsters on the lake bed below. Pictures, polish and up it goes tomorrow.
Today’s Scribbling: From Youtube To Prehistoric Times
Started my research with a Youtube clip of dubious cryptozoological significance, and finished it with an event in prehistoric Ireland where a lake fell on an elf. The next Odd Side of Donegal is planned out, and it’s going to be a strange one.
Today’s Scribbling: The Warrior Saint and the Battle of the Book
Today is a fifth article for the Odd Side of Donegal section. It’s about the patron saint of Donegal, and the tales of his exploits, and is called The Warrior Saint and the Battle of the Book.
Today’s Scribbling: The War of the Dove
Wrote the second half of the Columcille article today. It includes the reason why all Irishmen get to go to heaven, and should be up tomorrow.
Today’s Scribbling: The Dove as a Child
Today I wrote the first half of the next Odd Donegal entry. It’s actually pretty heavy going, not least because I’m relying on a poorly OCRed copy of an overly belaboured translation of a 16th century Irish book as my primary secondary source. (Don’t ask.) Hopefully I can get it finished tomorrow and get it up for Thursday.
