Yesterday I was travelling, but while sitting in the airport I sketched out a plan for the first 10% of the next novel. It’s not a historical crime novel, like the current one. I’m planning to do the first 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo, but I’m also planning to make this one a bit longer than the the first (which I think is at around 60,000 words at the minute). Today my brain is fried, so I edited chapter 25 of the first novel. I should be done with it in time to cleanse the palate and then get into NaNoWriMo. Fun!

I have made an executive decision to hold off on bumpers for the later chapters for now. I’m just scribbling ideas, but I’m going to do the edit first and then come up with them. Or do them all in one burst, not sure. Regardless – currently 24/32 chapters done. Hurrah!

Fixed a continuity issue in chapter 23, tightened it up, sorted the bumper, good to go. Probably going to be down to one chapter a day at best from here on out, but the end is in sight.

Chapter 22 done. That’s the last one with a proper bumper attached – guess I need to start figuring those out again now too.

Chapter 21 done, so over two-thirds of the way through. I predict the last six will take the longest though…

Chapters 19 and 20 done. I’d forgotten how much I liked chapter 20 – big grin on my face going through it. Need to write more stuff like that.

Another day, another chapter. Hopefully by tomorrow jet lag will have cleared and I can pick the pace up again. Still got 14 more to go, after all!

Only one chapter today, lucky number 17. Bit jetlagged and frazzled. Hope to get back to two for tomorrow.
