Wrote up my spiel for my recording for DW. Getting excited about it!

The Wars of the Roses kick off in earnest, with The Blooming Of The Roses – Richard of York Gives Battle In Vain.

Sometimes things go one way, then the other, and then wind up back where they started, just with a lot of people dead. And that’s how the first War of The Roses starts.

Planning out the initial War of the Roses now. Richard of York and Henry VI square off. Back and forth it goes, and even when you think it’s done it’s not. History is not neat.

The eve of the war is here. The Lancasters and the Plantagenets are about to kick off. It’s The Budding of the Roses – The King Who Wanted Peace.

Court politics, always fun. Tragic figures, comic figures, and people utterly convinced of their own cleverness. It’d be great, if it didn’t lead to war. Oh well. Tomorrow – editing, pictures, publishing.

Rosebud, I mean. Today I observed the rosebuds – an infant king, a secret marriage, a trial for witchcraft. This is where the pebble becomes the avalanche. It is too late for the rocks to vote. Soon the roses will blossom – and the Wars Of The Roses will begin.

So yeah, historical article planning.

Today it is back to historical stuff. I present The Seeds Of The Roses – The Usurpation of King Richard II.

Today, I wrote about Richard II being usurped by Henry IV, which laid the ground for the wars sixty years later. Tomorrow, editing and pictures. Then rosewarring.

New five-parter about the War of the Roses is planned, and the first part (which takes place 60 years earlier, but sets the stage) is also planned out. Looking forward to this.
