Burned through another chapter. Running into a lot of stuff around something one of the characters did in chapter 18 or so. I think I went back and forth over which character would do it, so I keep finding references to the wrong one doing it. Joy.

Today’s Scribbling: Novel Rewrites
First full chapter rewrite – well, surgery. Cut it down by about 15% in volume, but it’s better for it.
Today’s Scribbling: Novel Continuity Repair
Today I went back over the rest of the novel and made the updates that the new six chapters demanded. Not a lot of major changes – I did change two sentences in chapter 3 that gets me out of a major story problem in chapter 31, which I’m pretty proud of.
Today’s Scribbling: Novel Editing
First editing pass through the new chapters is complete! Got a bunch of stuff to do in the last chapter – mostly make the action tighter, if I can. Still, it’s not half bad. The end is in sight!
Today’s Scribbling: Novel editing
One more chapter down – not much time for editing this evening. Two more to go!
Today’s Scribbling: More novel editing
Three more chapters got through, two sections marked for rewrite, two continuity issues flagged. Also enough clumsy bits of language tidied up to make me feel good about myself. Going well!
Today’s Scribbling: Back to Dublin in the winter
Back to novel editing. Nine chapters to review and rewrite – got through three of them today. Two of them only needed minor work – one needs some more major surgery and has been left marked up for that. Fun getting back into it.
Today’s Scribbling: The Revolt Of The Younger King
The next (and final for a while) of The Civil Wars Of England is up. Henry II, erstwhile rebel, reaps what he has sown in his later life as his son and junior king Henry rebels against him. Find out how it went down in The Revolt Of The Younger King.
Today’s (and Yesterday’s) Scribbling: The Battling Henries
Yesterday I planned and today I wrote an article about the revolt of Henry the Younger King. I’ll put it up tomorrow, and then I may be taking a break from the civil wars, and returning to what it was a break from, 1920s Dublin. Or else cyberpsychics – it’s hard to decide.
Today’s Scribbling: The Anarchy Ends With A Whimper
That’s it – Anarchy done! Might do the Great Revolt next, since it’s right on the horizon, or else go do something else. Hard to tell. In the meantime, please enjoy The Anarchy Ends With A Whimper.
